Volunteering Coaches Information

Volunteer coaches are the backbone of all City of Hendersonville's managed youth athletic leagues. Without the dedication, support, and commitment of volunteers our youth sports programs would not be possible. Please note that our department is focused on the development and safety of our children, and requires all volunteer coaches to be certified by the National Youth Sports Coaches Association (NYSCA) and successfully pass a background check.

To volunteer as a head coach for a specific sport, please contact the Hendersonville Parks Department for an application at 615-828-3898 or CLICK HERE to email.

Additionally, the State of Tennessee has adopted strict guidelines regarding concussion and sudden cardiac arrest for all high school and volunteer youth coaches. As a parent or a coach, you should be fully aware of the signs and symptoms of concussions and cardiac arrest. The links below include the Hendersonville Parks policy in addition to some various handouts. Please take some time to view these. There are also short videos that provide great free information.
